Since our founding in 1999, IRETA has helped people respond effectively to substance use and its related problems. Professionals in helping fields like health, human services, education, and criminal justice don’t have enough training about addiction and its treatment. Our job is to help these helpers do what they do…better.

We are currently federally-funded as the National Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC), to serve as national focus area experts on a public health practice to help prevent, identify, and address at-risk substance use.

We also provide training, evaluation, and consulting on a range of other evidence-based and best practices related to substance use and addiction.

For a deeper look at our work and its impact, view IRETA’s Case Studies.
