IRETA will participate in the National Opioid Settlement Conference, taking place June 17–19 in Denver, Colorado.
The conference will bring together leaders, practitioners, advocates, and community partners working to support effective, transparent, and evidence-informed use of opioid settlement funds. IRETA is looking forward to connecting with others who are helping communities make thoughtful decisions about settlement investments and overdose prevention strategies.
Dr. Eric Hulsey, IRETA’s Executive Director, will lead a workshop on Thursday, June 18, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. in Mineral Hall A on the 3rd Floor. The session, “Making Settlement Funds Count: Using the OSPRI Tool to Guide Overdose Prevention Planning Efforts,” will introduce the Opioid Settlement Principles Resource and Indicators (OSPRI) tool and demonstrate how it can help jurisdictions identify effective interventions and select metrics aligned with core abatement strategies.

The workshop will explore how OSPRI supports the transition from broad, well-intentioned ideas to targeted, evidence-informed strategies. Participants will also hear practical insights from jurisdictions that have used the tool in real-world settings and learn how to align priorities with evidence-based approaches, focus planning efforts, and communicate progress with confidence.
If you are attending the National Opioid Settlement Conference, please let us know. IRETA welcomes the opportunity to connect with partners, colleagues, and communities working to reduce overdose risks and strengthen systems of care.
