The Use of EMDR Therapy in the Treatment of Addiction

EMDR Therapy has been used successfully to treat many aspects of addiction and compulsive behaviors. This webinar will give an overview of the 8 phases of the EMDR Therapy protocol. The webinar will summarize specialized protocols (e.g., Feeling State, DeTur) to alleviate cravings, compulsion and euphoric recall. We will discuss how to determine appropriate timing for processing trauma.

Presenter

Jeanne Meyer, LMHC, LPC, MAC has over 20 years of experience working with Co-Occurring Substance Abuse and Mental Health problems. Her experience includes: therapist, clinical supervisor, Assistant Program Manager of the Co-Occurring Treatment Program at Lifeline Connections, presenting workshops, trainings and webinars. She has worked in outpatient co-occurring treatment programs, chemical dependency agencies and private practice. She was trained in EMDR Therapy in 1996, is a certified EMDR Therapist and Approved EMDR Consultant. She currently has a private practice that specializes in addiction and trauma recovery. She is a clinical supervisor for Oregon and Washington and a consultant for EMDR therapists.
