Peter Luongo, Ph.D., LCSW-C

Peter.jpgBefore joining IRETA in 2011, Dr. Peter Luongo worked in the behavioral health field for over thirty years as a social worker and administrator. In Maryland, Dr. Luongo was the Single State Authority under three governors as the director of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration. He also served within the Montgomery County, MD Department of Health and Human Services for over two decades, including as the Clinical Director of Adult Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. He received his B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from The Catholic University of America and his Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Maryland. Dr. Luongo has served as a faculty associate at Johns Hopkins University. In 2008, he received the Maryland Social Worker of the Year award from the National Association of Social Workers and in 2012, he was selected as one of "50 Heroes for Justice" by The University of Maryland School of Social Work.

Holly HagleDr. Holly Hagle has been actively working with providers since joining the Institute for Research, Education and Training in Addictions (IRETA) in 2003. She is the Director of the Northeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (Northeast ATTC) and as such oversees all of the training and educational initiatives and serves as the curriculum developer for IRETA and the Northeast ATTC. She is a member of the Technology Transfer workgroup as well as other ATTC committees. Dr. Hagle oversees the curriculum development and project coordination for the Heath Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) federally funded project with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing since 2006. Dr. Hagle has been an adjunct professor at Point Park University, Pittsburgh, PA and trainer. Dr. Hagle has her BS in Psychology, MA in Curriculum and Instruction and PhD in Education, Instructional Management and Leadership.

Dawn Lindsay, Ph.D.

Dawn LindsayDr. Dawn Lindsay joined IRETA in April 2011. She completed her graduate work in clinical psychology at the University of Cincinnati in 2002 and was on the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh until last year. She has eight years of experience conducting NIDA- and NIAAA-funded research in the area of adolescent substance use disorders. She is a member of American Psychological Association and the American Evaluation Association.

Jim Aiello.jpgJim Aiello joined the staff of IRETA in August 2008. For the previous 12 years he served as Executive Vice President of Treatment Programs for Gateway Rehabilitation Center, one of the oldest and largest providers of drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in western Pennsylvania. In this capacity, he had responsibility for the administration, planning and coordination of Gateway’s services, delivered at 19 locations in Pennsylvania. He was with Gateway for over 25 years in various supervisory capacities. Prior to this he was Director of Clinical Services for Turtle Creek Valley MH/MR’s Regional Chemical Abuse Program, and Unit Director for the South Hills Health System’s Regional Alcoholism Program. Mr. Aiello has been an instructor in Penn State’s Chemical Dependency Counselor Training Program, has a Masters degree in Theology from St. John’s University in New York City, and a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Georgia. He currently serves on the advisory board of Penn State Beaver’s Psychology Department and the Board of Directors of Turtle Creek Valley MH/MR Inc.

Lisa HowardLisa Howard supports the work of the Northeast ATTC in New York by providing both classroom and web-based training. With more than 25 years experience in the fields of human and addiction services, Ms. Howard recently completed work on a grant-funded, multifaceted training project for the Impaired Driver Services Initiative at the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Prior to joining OASAS, Ms. Howard served as a Training Specialist at the Tobacco Recovery Resource Exchange a training curricula for both classroom and web-based delivery to support the multidisciplinary New York State addiction workforce in the integration of tobacco use interventions into the continuum of addiction services. Ms. Howard is currently an instructor for the New England ATTC Distance Learning Program and has in the past served as the NYS Northeast ATTC Information Specialist and Assistant Director of the Institute for Professional Development in the Addictions.

Jessica WilliamsJessica Williams graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She has served as the policy specialist for IRETA since February 2010. At IRETA, Ms. Williams staffs the Pennsylvania Drug and Alcohol Coalition, maintains research, policy, and educational content on the IRETA website, and edits the Northeast ATTC newsletter, IRETA Current. She also writes and edits articles and grants.

Kristine PondKristine H. Pond has worked for IRETA/Northeast ATTC for over ten years on traditional and webinar training and technical assistance projects. Responsibilities include event registration, budget, site procurement and onsite event management, correspondence with trainers and attendees, development of educational and promotional materials. She also secures certification for course CEUs for multiple credentialing agencies, manages staff travel coordination and assists Finance Manger with Accounts Payable.

Julius HabjanetzJulius J. Habjanetz has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration while majoring in Accounting at Duquesne University and an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Community College of Allegheny County. He has over twenty-six years of multi-fund accounting in the non-profit and governmental fields. His specialties are federal, state and county accounting and the Indirect Cost Proposal for the Federal Government.

Melva Hogan Melva I. Hogan has worked at IRETA for over ten years and her responsibilities include: processing GPRA data, webinars, correspondence/scheduling attendees and instructors for the Scaife Medical Student Seminars, processing IRETA website store orders, assisting the Finance Manager and numerous other projects.
