Description
This webinar will identify three reasons nurses are at risk for developing a substance use disorder, name and describe two resources available to nurses with substance use disorders, and discuss three signs and symptoms of substance abuse.
Presenter
Becky Eisenhut, MS, RN, CASAC, CARN has worked in behavioral healthcare for the past 25 years as both a nurse and a substance abuse counselor. She has been working for the New York State Nurse Association in the SPAN program since 2004 and is a Regional Coordinator for the Stateside Peer Assistance for Nurses (SPAN) program.
Tracey Brown RN, MSN, NPP is a SPAN Regional Coordinator for the NY Southeast Region. She has work experience in chemical dependency and psychiatric nursing from 2000-present as staff nurse, nurse manager, and nurse practitioner. Duties included acute care, staff and patient education, assessment, and diagnostics.
Michele Schultz BSN, RN is a SPAN Regional Coordinator for Western NY and provides groups of interested nurses and other professionals the benefits of the SPAN program and education regarding impaired professionals, along with resources to assist in recovery.
