Clients aren’t “resistant” or “acting out” – they’re inadequately warmed up to change, and as clinicians, it is our job to help them lower their anxiety, stay engaged in the process and increase their emotional, physical and spiritual capacity. Now more than ever, we need to rely on somatically-based and experiential modalities to help our clients stay grounded and resourced in the process, and build connection so they are motivated to keep coming back. In this educational and experiential presentation, we will explore a variety of tools and techniques from the disciplines of Polyvagal Theory, Somatic ExperiencingⓇ, Psychodrama and Psychodramatic BodyworkⓇ, to help clients stay better regulated, so they can move forward on their healing journey.
