The year 2019 was a big one for IRETA. We celebrated our 20th anniversary, held our first public symposium, increased our staff, and continued to work hard to fulfill our mission. None of our work would be possible without the organizations and individuals we partner with. We are so grateful to have the wonderful relationships we do.
While we continue to mourn the lives lost due to the overdose epidemic, this year we did get a glimpse of hope as the number of overdose deaths decreased in western Pennsylvania and across the country. However, our work around the overdose epidemic and other substance use issues is nowhere near done. In the new year, we aim to continue to help people respond effectively to substance use and related problems by educating healthcare systems, providing clinical quality improvement services to implement effective treatment services, and working with organizations and institutions to promote wellness and recovery.
As our 20th year draws to a close, we want to wish all of our supporters a happy holiday season and a new year full of joy, growth, and new discoveries. Thank you for all you do for us.
