Addressing Adolescent Substance Use via Telehealth

Webinar Description
This presentation will help providers effectively address substance use with adolescents during telehealth visits by discussing tips and strategies that encourage privacy, engage patients, and deliver effective brief interventions.

During this webinar you will learn how to:
-Identify telehealth platform functions that help engage adolescent patients and encourage privacy
-Deliver substance use screening tools via telehealth platforms
-Identify four steps of a brief intervention appropriate for adolescent telehealth visits

Presenter
Jim Winkle, MPH has trained hundreds of providers and behavioral health specialists on how to address substance use with patients. As the creator of the SBIRT Oregon website, Jim has designed screening forms, clinic tools and training videos used by health professionals across the country. He currently works as a consultant, delivering training and technical assistance on how to address substance use and intimate partner violence, as well as perform motivational interviewing in medical settings.
