Description
Many communities are interested in implementing Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) in schools. Morgan County, West Virginia, has done it. In this webinar, Hannah Stewart, LGSW discusses the Morgan County, West Virginia school SBIRT-based program, which was featured in WV Focus as part of a larger initiative to address mental health in schools. Learn about the program’s successes and failures, barriers encountered, and how they overcame them. The session includes special emphasis on the importance of data gathering and analysis for the continuing improvement of an SBIRT program.
Presenter
Hannah Stewart is an LGSW and the lead social worker for Morgan County Schools during the 2017-2018 school year. She has a Masters of Social Work from University of New England and a Bachelors of Social Work from East Carolina University. She has previously worked as the SBIRT facilitator at Morgan County Partnership, as a therapist with East Ridge Health Systems, and as a Case Manager/Program Coordinator with Starting Points Family Resource Center.
