A simple online course to introduce you to effective tools
The growing array of technological options to help patients with addiction is quite exciting. And what’s really exciting are the studies that show higher rates of abstinence, longer retention in treatment, and higher patient satisfaction with the use of carefully developed technological tools.
IRETA has teamed up with the National Institute on Drug Abuse to introduce you to evidence-based addiction technology. Our new online course, Electronic Tools for Use in the Continuum of Care for Patients With Addiction, provides background on four specific tools that can help you do a better job of identifying, treating, and supporting recovery from substance use disorders.
The course covers the following material:
- An introduction to the use of technology in the continuum of care for patients with substance use disorders
- BSTAD, a rapid electronic screening tool for teens
- CBT4CBT, a web-based cognitive behavioral therapy tool
- TES, a web-based program that adjusts to patients’ cognitive level
- ESQYIR, a text message-based recovery support tool for young adults
Each tool is presented with recent research supporting its effectiveness.
