The AAP Substance Use Screening and Intervention Implementation Guide
Information about each component of SBIRT, as well as the importance of addressing adolescent substance use, including alcohol. This resource supports AAP recommendations to use a validated screening tool at every visit, offer brief intervention tailored to the screening results, and refer patients to treatment when necessary.
SBIRT for Adolescents: Why & How Twitter Chat
Using the hashtag “#SBIRT4youth,” IRETA, The Hilton Foundation, and The National Council for Behavioral Health hosted a Twitter chat on SBIRT for adolescents during December 2016. This curriculum offers skills-based education on Adolescent SBIRT. The curriculum is comprised of an Instructor’s Toolkit containing the Learner’s Guide to Adolescent SBIRT with companion slide decks and supplemental resources, and the web-based SBI with Adolescents simulation program.
